You have landed on the site for my two volumes of life journey musings, prompted by an unwelcome diagnosis of multiple sclerosis at 57.  Less about MS and more about accepting loss and moving on in life, the poetic contents of the two books cover a span of 10 years.

Musing Along the Way, Volumes 1 and 2

Then there was a pause…to write a book on another topic, Why Not Do What You Love?

Frankly, the first two volumes of Musings emerged organically, the first in 2002 and the second in 2011.  Over those years, I found myself reflecting in –surprise to me– poetry.   Scribblings stuffed in a file cabinet, with hindsight,  organized themselves for wider sharing. The themes, in poetry, tend to capture my pain, despair, and hope and healing,   Today,  I am a woman in my 82nd year, still healing, aging, and living into her final chapter of life.  Life goes on.

Volume II was published in 2011.  That was the end of the poetry.  Reflections now turned to prose.  I continued to muse and write, expressing my thoughts on the ups and downs of a life still in motion.  Those pieces from 2011 to mid-2015 are archived here on this site.   Since 2015, there has been a further consolidation.   Reflective blog posts on my more recent epiphanies about life and death, exist  on my current anchor site meetmarthajohnson.com.

I have always believed, and I still believe,
that whatever good or bad fortune may come our way,
we can always give it meaning and transform it into something of value.
